Hormones
Most of us have compromised hormones after years of exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals so prevalent in our environment including plastics, pesticides etc. For years I was taking expensive compounded bioidentical hormones. Last fall I read this article on pine pollen and how it stimulates testosterone and other sex hormones. https://www.naturalnews.com/2018-10-07-pine-pollen-health-benefits-revealed.html
Knowing that the pine tree is one of the earliest plants to pollenate in spring, I theorized that it may be responsible for getting all creatures procreating each year. Then I set about looking for a non-Chinese source.
I had been on prescriptions for Dessicated Thyroid, and compounded bioidentical hormones for Testosterone, DHEA and Progesterone for several years. I’d previously also been on Eltroxin (T3) but quit it due to intolerance. I started taking pine pollen daily and noticed that it gave me an energy boost. My Bioresonance practitioner verified that my body really liked the pine pollen and could take a second dose daily, so that’s what I did.
This spring, before getting all my hormone prescriptions renewed, I was retested. For once I was high in DHEA and Testosterone, while the rest were high normal. I retested after being off all prescription hormones for a week to see if pine pollen could replace the pharmaceuticals.
This time all my sex hormones fell into the normal range, while TSH was high and free T4 was low. Looks like I can lower my Thyroid intake as well as cancel my compounded hormones!
Then something changed with the product. It was darker, courser, tasted different and after a couple of doses, it made me very sick. I contacted the supplier and learned that they source their pollen from China or Taiwan. I suspect that I was using Taiwan product at first and only reacted when they ran out and switched to Chinese pollen, since China is so polluted.
I searched for a company that sourced from a clean area and found Canadian Pine Pollen which sources from trees in BC. https://canadianpinepollen.com/ I retested my hormone levels after being on it a week and once again my Testosterone, DHEA and Progesterone were in the normal range.
The Canadian Pine Pollen is more expensive than the stuff sourced from abroad, but the safety of the product makes all the difference. I’ve been using their tinctures which are the most economical.

I've been hypothyroid since my work-time chemical exposures, taking prescription Dessicated Porcine Thyroid plus, at times, Synthroid or Eltroxin. Testing showed I was still hypothyroid and I still had symptoms of fatigue and thinning hair, low temperatures etc. The Synthroid and Eltroxin caused noticeable symptoms, so I quit taking them. The Thyroid pills also contained 2 carcinogens.... talc and Sorbitol. Why would anyone want to swallow that?
Then I discovered Nutri-Meds. (www.nutri-meds.com) They sell a Bovine Dessicated Thyroid supplement from grass fed, organically raised cows and have no fillers. After 6 months my temperatures were more normal, I feel more refreshed when I get up, the grey hair is gone from my temples and new hair is now covering my scalp all over!

My adrenals were also off. Saliva testing showed elevated levels during the night. To correct this, I added a grounded half sheet to our bed. Not only did that normalize my cortisol levels, it cured hubby's sleep apnea. We threw out his CPAP machine as he no longer snores at all.
Grounding does not have to be expensive. I bought the cheapest conductive fabric I could find (EX-STATIC™ CONDUCTIVE FABRIC) and a grounding cord from https://www.lessemf.com/fabric1.html#1209 and plug into my house ground. I did test my ground first to make sure it was safe. A cheap tester for this purpose is also available there.
One Awesome, Natural Way to Reduce Stress and Feel Better - Connecting with Earth

Did you know that connecting to the Earth with bare skin may offer a host of health benefits – including healing the tired, stressed, and holiday-weary? This practice of connecting with nature is called ‘grounding,’ or ‘earthing,’ and it should be tried by everyone.
Do you remember running in green grass at the park with bare feet? Or sitting in mud or sand piles building castles? Even walking around on an earthen floor can electromagnetically ‘ground’ us, causing our bodies to absorb negatively charged atoms from the Earth. Since our bodies are naturally positively charged, the negative ions ‘neutralize’ disease and strain. This might be why gardeners feel so good! They are always re-charging their bodies with negative ions form the Earth.
Adrenal fatigue is caused by the ever-presence of stress, causing our adrenal glands to be overloaded. It can arise after prolonged periods of emotional crisis, but also after physical illnesses like the flu or pneumonia.
In the most serious cases of adrenal fatigue, the activity of the adrenal glands is so impaired that you may have difficulty getting out of bed for more than a few hours per day. With each increment of reduction in adrenal function, every organ and system in your body is profoundly affected.
This means that our ‘fight or flight’ system, which is largely comprised of the adrenal glands, is switched to a constant ‘on’ with no ‘off’ switch easily accessible.
The adrenals sit right on top of your kidneys, and are made up of two distinct parts:
One article published in the Journal of Complimentary Medicine states that:
“. . . grounding the human body results in [positive] changes in sleep, pain, and stress (anxiety, depression, irritability).”
They measured cortisol levels, specifically in patients who participated in their grounding study.
“[The adrenal system] normally works very efficiently for overt threats . . .such as in the face of a prowling predator, an accident or medical emergency. Yet unfortunately the HPA Axis responds not only to these actual, embodied stressors, but also to those that are anticipated and perceived – our looming worries and fears. The HPA system is helpless in differentiating between psychosocial stressors like getting stuck in traffic or planning a dinner party, and physical threats such as dodging wooly predators.
Thus in our far-from-perfect bustling modern world, where stressors are everywhere and worry is rampant, the HPA alarm is almost constantly stuck in the glowing red ON position. Cortisol levels soar in an unruly and destructive manner at bizarre times of the day and night, and suddenly small tasks such as packing a lunch or responding to an email, morph into treacherous evil threats that we feel like we just can’t handle.”
There is no refuting the potential benefits of connecting with nature and the Earth. Grounding is one of the simplest, most effective ways of allowing the body to right itself.

The adrenals sit right on top of your kidneys, and are made up of two distinct parts:
- The adrenal cortex, which produces vital hormones like cortisol (which helps regulate metabolism and helps your body respond to stress) and aldosterone (which helps control blood pressure).
- The adrenal medulla, which produces nonessential hormones, such as adrenaline and norepinephrine (which help your body react to stress).
